Victor H. Garza, CFP®
Personal Financial Planner | Independent RIA | Values-Based Wealth Management
Victor Garza moved to the United States as a teenager without knowing a single word of English. His family arrived with ambition, faith, and zero financial guidance—vulnerable to commission-driven salespeople and a system that wasn’t built for them. That experience planted a conviction that never left: every family deserves someone in their corner who knows their stuff and can be trusted.
“I wished my parents could have counted on a person to guide them through this complex and overwhelming financial system,” Victor says. “Someone to look out for our family.” That wish became his life’s work.
Victor earned a full academic scholarship to Texas Tech University, where he purposefully chose to study Personal Financial Planning. He sat for the CFP® exam immediately after graduation, becoming one of the youngest Hispanic Certified Financial Planners in the nation. After years of experience at private wealth management firms—including serving as Chief Operating Officer for a boutique advisory firm—and leading bilingual financial education seminars across the Dallas community through Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Victor opened his own practice.
Today, as the founder of Garza Financial Planning, LLC, Victor serves families and individuals as an independent, fee-only advisor custodied at Charles Schwab. His approach is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: alignment over accumulation. He believes that money isn’t the destination—it’s a tool for living a purposeful, conscious life. His planning process begins not with portfolios, but with values: what truly matters to you, what you’re afraid of, and what kind of life you want to build.
Victor’s investment philosophy is evidence-based and grounded in academic research. He focuses on building diversified, factor-based portfolios designed for long-term wealth creation—not market timing or speculation. Financial planning, in his hands, is comprehensive: cash flow, tax strategy, risk management, estate planning, and retirement all structured around a family’s core values.
He is committed to the financial planning profession and financial literacy. Victor has served on the Board of the Financial Planning Association’s Dallas chapter, participated as a financial coach for Crown Financial Ministries, and contributed to The Dallas Morning News, the Your Money Your Matters radio show, and other financial publications—in both English and Spanish.
Victor was born and raised in Mexico and lives in Richardson, Texas, with his wife Tiffany—herself a CFP® and Texas Tech graduate—and their three children. Outside of work, you’ll find him on the golf course, in the gym, digging into a book on neuroscience or behavioral psychology, or in the garden (he’s a certified Master Gardener). He’s endlessly curious about what makes people tick—and how to help them live lives that actually match what they say matters most
